Adult supervision stays with this card

A responsible adult must supervise closely and constantly, stay within reach and avoid distractions whenever water is accessible. Follow the table and accessory instructions, age labels and warnings. Do not allow climbing, drinking the play water or access to small or damaged pieces. If supervision stops, end the activity and empty all water immediately.

Gather a few things

  • A table assembled according to its instructions
  • Two age-appropriate unbreakable pouring containers
  • Clean water, added by an adult
  • A cloth and a clear drainage plan

The adult setup

An adult inspects the table and containers, chooses a stable non-slip location and sets out only the pieces needed. Prepare a way to drain the water without leaving it accessible.

A simple sequence

  1. Demonstrate a short pour from one container into the other while keeping both low over the basin.
  2. Pause together to notice the water level. No fixed number of repeats is needed.
  3. Invite the child to choose which container receives the next pour. Adjust or stop if the container is awkward to hold.

One question to explore

What changes when you pour slowly rather than all at once?

Finish & put away

An adult empties the table and all containers, cleans them as instructed and dries the play area. Store water containers where children cannot reach them unsupervised.
