Adult supervision stays with this card

A responsible adult must supervise closely and constantly, stay within reach and avoid distractions whenever water is accessible. Follow the table and accessory instructions, age labels and warnings. Do not allow climbing, drinking the play water or access to small or damaged pieces. If supervision stops, end the activity and empty all water immediately.

Gather a few things

  • Assembled water table
  • One age-appropriate scoop or cup
  • Clean water added by an adult
  • A cloth and drying spot

The adult setup

Check that the scoop suits the child and product instructions. Keep extra accessories out of the way and have an adult stay within reach.

A simple sequence

  1. An adult demonstrates taking one small scoop and returning it to the same basin.
  2. Pause to notice how the water surface changes.
  3. Let the child repeat, change the pace or stop. End the activity when the adult can no longer give full attention.

One question to explore

What happens to the ripples when you stop moving the scoop?

Finish & put away

Empty every container and the basin, clean and dry as instructed and wipe any wet floor before putting the equipment away.
